Class Difficulties
Honors/AP courses:
-
Honors classes are meant to challenge students from the standard level classes that are provided based upon grade level. At Issaquah High School, you are given the option to take standard World History and Literary Analysis & Composition, or Honors World History and Honors Literary Analysis & Composition. Honors classes are faster paced and require a larger time commitment outside of school hours to complete homework and study for tests.
-
If you want to challenge yourself to the highest level, AP (Advanced Placement) courses are also offered. These are college level courses that are designed to push you academically. Teachers work to prepare you for the respective AP test for each class, which occurs in the first two weeks of May. Taking the AP test will cost you a fee of around $100, which can be paid to the school book-keeper before the AP payment deadline.
